Odor audit
Objectives
- To collect the information necessary to characterize the odor problem
- To propose an action plan to measure emissions and nuisances
Procedure
During an odor audit, our experts work on-site :
- To identify site characteristics: location, activity, operations carried out, etc.
- To identify the characteristics of odor sources: source type, emissions parameters, etc.
- To collect information relating to neighborhood complaints: frequency, locations of odor reports
- To compare the results with the legislations
- To analyze the available data and define an appropriate action plan
Results
Expert advice and recommendations for carrying out further studies to quantify precisely the levels of emissions and nuisances:
- Odor diagnosis: rank sources according to their level of emissivity, based on standardized measurements
- Odor impact assessment: modeling the frequency and theoretical magnitude of odor nuisances based on actual historical data
These studies are based on the information collected during the odor audit.
